As part of my PhD, I am studying the use of pesticides in the Belgian Province of Luxembourg. Based on an inventory of pesticide use carried out among farmers in the Province, I am investigating the links between the agricultural practices implemented for different crops and the pesticide residues in the soil under these crops. In a systemic approach, I am also inquiring about the lock-ins, barriers and levers for a reduction in the use of pesticides in the Province, both at the farm level and in the agro-industrial sectors up- and downstream of the farms.
